Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U is coming soon (we hope), and even though Sakurai and team are gracious enough to give us daily screenshots on the Super Smash Bros website we still feel a need to get excited and speculate, frequently, about what will appear in the game.
Now it’s not a set in stone separation but we do know that the stages and trophies in the 3DS and Wii U versions of Super Smash Bros will be more representative of the platform lineage upon which they appear.
So that’s console for Wii U, and handheld for 3DS. This is why we’ve seen stages such as Fire Emblem Awakening’s Arena Ferox and Zelda: Spirit Track’s Spirit Train as stages in the 3DS version, while the Wii U features the likes of a Mario Galaxy planetoid, Skyward’s Sword’s Skyloft, and the Wii Fit gym.
So this week, in light of this difference, we posed the following question to you; which handheld title or franchise would you like to see represented in Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS as a stage?
We had a huge number of responses, ranging from the expected to the slightly off kilter. There was one request for Pullblox/Pushmo, but none for the superior and more appropriate sequel Fallblox/Crashmo, which is a shame. That would be a personal want, with little Malo making a mess of the stage for the fighters. Also no calls for Tetris, though that would likely get extremely messy…
Anyway, on with your opinions!

Joseph Brown (via Facebook) Inazuma Eleven’s Titanic Stadium. Hazards could be Hector’s X Blast and Xavier’s Celestial Smash.
Neale Maker (via Twitter) Inazuma Eleven! Basically just a football pitch!
Daniel Fox (via Facebook) Castlevania stage!
Martyn Mercer (via Facebook) As ever, Style Boutique! Strange, I know but it would be fun to see how that would work. Failing that, Pullblox would be cool!
Annabel Benjamin (via Facebook) Luigi’s Mansion 2 and Link Between Worlds would make for good stages me thinks
Anthony John Boyd (via Facebook) Rewind Spring from Kid Icarus.
Rustinho del Pierco (via Facebook) Monster Hunter!
Alex Faulkie Faulkner (via Facebook) On top of a rampaging Grima [from Fire Emblem: Awakening] anyone?
Ben Bayntun (via Twitter) Kuru Kuru Kururin! Try to avoid giant rotating sticks whilst the stage flies through a maze.
Most Popular Response
There were no objections to the most popular request, mind, which was Capcom’s spikey haired pointer of fingers, Phoenix Wright. No votes for a Hershel Layton inspired arena, but then his adventures don’t have as many iconic environments as, you guessed it, the courtroom.
Mark ‘Marcoos’ McAllister (via Facebook) Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Dual Destinies courtroom stage, with a hazard judge and Blackquill. Obviously I didn’t include Phoenix because he will be a new fighter…
Adam Sims (via Facebook) The Ace Attorney Courtroom. Stage Hazzards could be Phoenix and Edgeworth Shouting ‘Objection!’ With the Speech Bubbles causing Damage to players on that side. If they Shout ‘Take That!’ Items will be thrown onto the Stage, If they shout ‘Hold It!’ The action will be slowed down (Similar to the Stopwatch Item in Brawl). Finally The Judge banging his gavel would cause a Stage Shake effect.

StreetPass UK’s Favourite Response
Without a doubt, though, this request is the best, even if it would jack the age rating up a few notches…
