As you may have seen Pokémon trainers all over the United Kingdom are currently battling for a handful of Golden Tickets so that they can meet in London, on December 7th, to face off in a spectacular display of professional Pokémon pugilism at the Pokémon Winter Event 2013.

But what are they fighting for? And where are they meeting? Well while that second point remains a delicious mystery for now, Nintendo have let slip some information regarding the spoils that await the ‘very best’…

In terms of the tournament, the prize pool is as follows…

1st Place – £500 cash, winners certificate, £100 of Nintendo eShop credit and a Blue Pokémon X/Y Limited Edition Nintendo 3DS XL

2nd Place – £250 cash, winners certificate, £50 of Nintendo eShop credit and a Blue Pokémon X/Y Limited Edition Nintendo 3DS XL

3rd Place – £100 cash, winners certificate, £30 of Nintendo eShop credit.

– All other qualifiers for the tournament will receive a £20 eShop voucher.
– All qualifiers (winners included) will also receive a one-off event T-shirt.

But that’s not all! There will also be additional prizes for best Pokémon-themed cosplay outfit that makes an appearance. Even if you’re not taking part in the main competition, you can still enter the cosplay contest!

However, spaces for the Pokémon Winter Event 2013 are extremely limited – like, finding a Turkey on Christmas Eve limited – so if you have a passion for dressing up silly, and want a chance to be rewarded for it, you need to email nintendocommunity@nintendo.co.uk to get added to the guest list! There will be lots to do on the day so if you can make it, do!
